Either Akin or Baker are fine as the 8th man in the bullpen, but they can’t have both. I don’t know if Irvin can be a high leverage lefty behind Perez but he can’t be worse than Akin, right?

He should have not pulled Baker.....seriously. Baker was doing his shit to get out of a jam he created...... you can't rule out that Akin Blew it giving up a base clearing double followed by a 2 run doink... Akin wants to be ahead of Baker so he made him look like those runs were his fault... all 5

Should have let Baker finish the inning. He just struck the rookie out and was in the mode to pitch in a stressful spot. Akin wasnt ready for that situation.

If they still had Coulombe, I think they probably win this game. They need another lefty reliever who can get lefties out in crucial situations. Perez wasn't available so they had to go with Aikin and this was STL all over again. When Aikin is bad, he is REALLY bad. JP Crawford is no Juan Soto but Aikin fails yet again.

I have a question for the Orioles youth, actually it’s applicable to all the current Orioles players. Have y’all considered the fact that the club is so overloaded with super star power that most would believe that there’s no way the organization can keep the whole team together, and, because of that, have y’all considered taking a different sort of pay structure that would have you financially accommodated outside the organization’s payroll, over a longer period of time and via investments through the financial guru and Orioles owner Rubenstein? We are all aware of the fact that players make more money than they actually need, especially during their careers where the organization is bearing the majority of player expenses. Would it be insane to suggest that you guys take a significant portion of your team salary and invest it with Rubenstein under a secondary contract where you’re guaranteed a certain return over a certain period of time with the possibility of only making more than expected, but never less even if it requires supplemental funds from the deep pockets of Rubenstein? That way the team can stay together, everyone can get paid what they should get paid, just without creating an unmanageable team payroll, and without taking away from the team payroll capabilities in the years following your retirements. I think the most important aspects of the pay structure are the time frames, the annual returns, the guarantees made by ownership and that the players will not have to lift a finger throughout the entirety of these agreements. An added bonus to this structure is that Rubenstein and ownership stand to make some money as well while they’re managing these investments as opposed to just shelling out cash so the organization will start to build a level of capital and revenue that will allow them to compete with the super-major market incomes of cities like Boston and New York. Which is deserving because Orioles fans, Baltimore fans in general are way better fans than they’ll ever be in Boston and New York. You will NEVER hear us boo’ing our super stars. For us to boo you, you have to be a jacka** usually on and off the field while being a consistent and massive contributor to us losing. So much so, that you’re likely to get pulled off the lineup card before the boo birds come out. Obviously I don’t know if there are rules against this sort of thing, but I’m sure it’s something that can be weathered/managed. More importantly, no matter what, you guys should do whatever it takes to accommodate the front office to keep this group together. When all of these young stars have 5+ years experience at the big league level we will have 7+ MVP candidates every season. You guys have a chance to something extremely extraordinary, incredibly inspiring and absolutely awesome. Don’t blow it for excess. Stay true to your faith, to the game and to each other. Leave the societal nonsense and outside influence where it belongs, in the trash out of sight out of mind. Go O’s!! Go win you a World Series so you know it’s real, what I’m saying, so you have credible proof of what you could do if you stayed together. Love y’all. Great win. Suarez was a stud. Cano has not had quality outings and nearly cost us this one. He is so good, but something is off right now. The coaches will identify it and get him straightened out. I told everybody Cedric Mullins would find his groove. He's had a great June and barreled the ball tonight, just to people. He's back. The Orioles are DEEP!! Great Management, coaches, players. The season is full of hiccups but this team just shakes it off and moves forward. Great, mature attitudes for such young players. Another fun season ahead for us fans. Go O's!!!!!
